Hello Class of 2011, we hope these notes find you well! Nick Borger and wife Dr. Jessica Nickrand co-authored a chapter in the American Library Association’s Comic Books, Special Collections, and the Academic Library entitled, “’More Deadly than the Atom Bomb!’: Anti-Drug Messaging and the Comics Code in 1971.” Sarah Demers started at Brenes Law Group (Irvine, CA) in October 2022. She handles plaintiff-side medical device product liability. Sarah moved to California in 2019. Although she misses her Minnesotan friends and family, she doesn’t miss scraping her windshield at all! Jenna Eisenmenger celebrated the first anniversary of opening her own firm, Midwest Family Law PLLC. It seems hardly possible to top that significant life change so soon, but this year she is expanding her practice to Wisconsin; moving to Hudson; and getting married. Congratulations, Jenna! Peter Glessing joined Medical Alley in March 2023. He serves as Senior Director of Policy and Advocacy, leading the organization’s state and federal government affairs. Peter previously spent more than seven years at Lockridge Grindal Nauen. Emily Menchaca (pictured below) joined Cargill as Senior Counsel - Commercial.
Charlie Nelson (pictured below) is now a Partner at Ballard Spahr (Minneapolis). Charlie assists clients with issues related to bankruptcy, debtor-creditor rights, commercial financial disputes, real estate and construction disputes, probate and trust administration disputes, and pre- and post-judgment collection efforts.
Last year, Robyn Brown became Director of Immigration Programs at World Relief.
In June 2023, Elyssa (Bannwell) Danahy and her husband Matt welcomed their third child, a daughter named Zoey Joyce. Jenny Fuller (pictured below) became a Partner at Fox Rothschild (Minneapolis). Jenny provides strategic legal advice to employers on all aspects of employment law.
Garin Strobl (pictured below) shifted from medical malpractice to public health and joined the Public Health Law Center as a staff attorney. She focuses on health equity and food access, particularly for underserved communities. Garin lives in Minneapolis with her husband, two kids and sheepdog, Winnie.
Adam Rohne now works as Senior Corporate Counsel for U.S. Bank, supporting its Wealth Management - Trust & Investments division. Marcus Jones is now Deputy City Attorney for Rochester, Minnesota. Robert Lincoln (pictured below) is now Deputy Attorney General IV at the California Department of Justice in the Civil Division of the Office of the Attorney General of California. He handles consumer protection, healthcare litigation, and regulation for the California Medical Board and healthcare regulatory agencies.
Lucas Vebber argued Wisconsin Property Taxpayers, Inc. v. Town of Buchanan before the Wisconsin Supreme Court. The case involved a challenge to a tax the town was imposing. Lucas represented Wisconsin Property Taxpayers, Inc., and the court decided unanimously in his client’s favor.
