ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS

As the largest private university in Minnesota and one of the largest Catholic universities in the nation, St. Thomas develops future leaders of all faiths looking to make a positive impact on the world. The University was founded in 1885 to provide higher education for a rapidly growing immigrant community. Today it serves about 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students, representing 41 states and 92 countries, on three campuses located in St. Paul, Minneapolis and Rome. Eight schools and colleges offer over 150 undergraduate majors and minors and over 55 graduate degree programs. St. Thomas benefits from a strong legacy; a talented and devoted community of faculty, staff and students; a large and powerful network of over 115,000 alumni; a dedicated and generous board of trustees; strong philanthropic support; and an aspiration to ensure that every student experiences a strong sense of belonging. St. Thomas collaborates with community partners, Fortune 500 companies and its alumni to connect students with internships and full-time jobs. One hundred percent of classes are taught by faculty and 97% of graduates are employed or in graduate school within one year. The University opened a new Morrison Family College of Health in 2019, has a strong fundraising campaign underway, will soon open a state-of- the-art Schoenecker Center for STEAM education, and transitioned to Division I from Division III athletics in 2021. The University welcomes Rob Vischer to build upon the strong assets of this outstanding institution and lead it to even greater impact and reach.
