SUSTAINABILITY

At St. Thomas, we’re committed to honoring the planet every day. Every year since 2018, our accomplishments have been recognized by the Princeton Review’s Guide to Green Colleges. This means that our sustainability work here receives a gold STARS rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, and three Marks of Distinction from the Climate Leadership Network — and we’re just getting started. We’re currently in the process of becoming a carbon-neutral campus by 2035. Want to do more? Live in our Sustainability Living Learning Community for first-year students, promote green agriculture by getting involved in our Stewardship Garden or visit our Pollinator Path to learn how you can protect declining pollinator populations. Collecting organics for compost and special recycling stations for plastic bags, batteries, ink toner cartridges and electronics are part of our efforts to reduce campus waste by 80% by 2030. Taking it to the streets, we’re promoting green transportation by riding dockless scooters, biking and using Metro Transit.
