We have several great updates for this issue. AdamBrown joined Cousineau, Waldhauser & Kieselbach as a shareholder and director of professional development. Adam’s position is structured so that he will handle all aspects of workers’ compensation matters for clients, and he will also have the time and capacity to provide individual coaching, training, real-time feedback, and skill-building support for associates and other legal professionals at the firm. In addition, he will provide business development support and assist with integral firm systems. Before starting at CWK Law, Adam spent nearly six years at St. Thomas Law where he served as the assistant director of career and professional development, managed the law school’s externship program, and taught courses in the externship andmentor programs. Adam is continuing to teach the advanced externship course. Through his work at CWK Law, Adam is building a model to help improve and personalize the way we support newer professionals in the legal industry. Kaarin Nelson Schaffer recently helped to found the firm of Conard Nelson Schaffer, a boutique trial firm that helps other firms and attorneys take their cases to trial. Melanie McMahon was appointed in July as the Executive Project Lead for Redevelopment to drive progress on eight key real

estate projects within the City of St. Paul. Melanie’s most recent position prior to her promotion was as a Legislative Aide in the Saint Paul City Council Ward 3 Office. Congratulations, Melanie! Matt Schultz was promoted to Commander in the Navy Reserve JudgeAdvocate General’s Corps. Johanna Clyborne ,Major General, Asst. Adjutant General MNNG, served as his promotion officer in a virtual promotion ceremony, pictured below and also attended by 2005 alumnae Barb Brekke and Becky Ribich .

Mariana Vielma was appointed to a judgeship in the 17th Judicial District, servingAdams County, Colorado.Mariana had previously been working as a County Court andDistrict Court Magistrate in the 17th Judicial District.
