Cesar Osvaldo Mendez Portillo , UST Class of ‘23 Majors: Business Administration and Marketing Management “I went to DFC with the mindset that I needed to figure out what to do in life. A lot of people at DFC don’t really know what they want in the beginning, but we all have similar life experiences and can support each other while we figure it out.” Cesar graduated with his bachelor’s degree in May 2023. He is employed at U.S. Bank in business banking, working with small-business owners. Cesar will also be joining the first class of the new Diversity in Leadership master’s degree program at St. Thomas in the fall.

Roman Adhikari , UST Class of ’23 Major: Accounting Minor: Data Analytics

“DFC is unique compared to everything else. It’s very inclusive in the curriculum and in the way it’s set up. I came to America when I was 10, but I never really felt included in education. At DFC, you’re learning about so many different perspectives, not just through one lens. That made me see myself in education for the first time.”

Roman has an internship this summer in the accounting department of an insurance company. He plans to become a Certified Public Accountant upon graduation this fall and work for an accounting firm. He holds a real estate license and would like to someday combine his passion for real estate with his skills in accounting.
