Mardell Presler founded Rosie the Lawyer with the intent to expose underprivileged high school girls to female attorneys and judges and the legal field in unique areas of law. Its inaugural year started with a group of students from Southwest High who met with a group of attorneys and with Justice Anne McKeig, and wrapped up with a conversation with former Vice President Walter Mondale.With this year’s success, counselors with Minneapolis Public Schools already are thinking of which girls to nominate for next year! In September 2019, Kelly Geistler relocated to Rochester, Minnesota, to become the deputy city clerk for the city of Rochester. Kelly accepted the position after a wonderful seven years at the city of Minneapolis (four years in the city clerk’s office). Kelly enjoys the challenges of supervising an integral municipal service office that has so much bandwidth in a really fast- growing city.
